Motion City Soundtrack: My Dinosaur Life

February 17, 2010 Leave a comment

The long wait is over! After just over two weeks from the actual release date of the record, Motion City Soundtracks – My Dinosaur Life has arrived at my door step! Well it actually landed at Royal Mail because there was a custom charge. Not so happy with that.

This is the fourth album from american rock band Motion City Soundtrack, which was released on 19th January 2010, and was produced by Mark Hoppus of Blink-182.
I paid the extra for the deluxe edition as all the album art was design by my favourite artist Joe Ledbetter! There are 5000 copies of this limited deluxe edition and this package contains:

  • Hardbound 9″x9″ custom book
  • Six double sided 7″ picture discs representing each track
  • A signed lyric book
  • Full length CD
  • Exclusive bonus CD

On top of that I bought the beautiful 8″x36″ lithograph print by Joe Ledbetter.

One last comment is that Motion City will be having a few shows in the UK in March and I will be attending the last UK show which is in Glasgow! Can’t wait, it’s going to be AWESOME!!!

Artitude Exhibition & Ulster Museum Revisit

November 25, 2009 2 comments

The tour of the Artitude exhibition at the Waterfront Hall was rather short… lets just say I was a bit disappointed.  It mostly consisted of tattoo artists I assume.  There are some artist there with work thats not in the style of a tattoo artist which really caught my interested, so it was phone out of my pocket to make a quick note of the names of the artists.  One artist that cought my eye the most was one with an alias called Friz.  His/her characters are very cartoon/comic style and very much like Joe Ledbetter style.  Well worth looking into some of these artists especially Friz for me off course!

This return to the Ulster Museum with all cameras charged and ready to shoot did produce some interesting results and some not so interesting.  I did miss the mummy section which I wanted to get a few photos off but due to restricted time it will be saved for another rainy day.

I have to admit that the wild life section must have been my favourite 🙂
Here are a few photos from yesterdays trip.

This guy is said to be some sort of Tasmanian Devil, kind of like the one in the cartoons but uglier! It just looks like an angery dog to be honest.

Motion City Soundtrack’s New Record!!!

November 15, 2009 Leave a comment

I am back! I have just realised that it’s been over a month since my last post so I decided to drop by and mention a few things.
First of all I have to tell everyone how excited I am about Motion City Soundtracks new album titled “My Dinosaur Life” which is due to release on January 19th 2010!
Secondly my most inspirational artist Joe Ledbetter is designing all of the album art, what more can I ask for!!!

Pre-ordering became available earlier from the motion city store and a Deluxe Edition was available for those hardcore motion city fans at a price of 60 bucks.

Deluxe Edition includes:
Hardbound 9×9 custom book to hold the below contents
-Six double sided 7″ picture discs featuring custom Joe Ledbetter artwork for each track
-Signed Pulp Fiction style lyric book
-Full length 12 track CD
-Exclusive bonus CD (Features 5 alt/acoustic versions – including 1 unreleased track)

In my opinion that 70% of me wanted the Deluxe Edition for the Joe Ledbetter artwork so off course I went through the process of trying to pre-order it, except to be greeted with “Offer is for United States customers only” which I got pretty annoyed!
The anger finally came to an end later on when motion city tweeted saying “The availability of the deluxe edition of My Dinosaur Life internationally will be known soon.” hopefully this is good news that all the other fans that don’t live in the United States will get the chance to get their hands on the Deluxe Edition.
